Privacy Policy:
Effective date: September 27, 2026
This policy is for the Goal Journal app from CA3DWorks (Carlos Andrade). It explains what the app stores and what CA3DWorks does not collect.
Who this applies to
Goal Journal is a personal goals, tasks, and journal app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android phones and tablets. CA3DWorks does not run an account system for the app, and we do not store your journal on our servers. All data is saved privately in your own iCloud account on Apple devices or your own Android account on Android devices.
What the app stores
Journal content. Goals, tasks, progress notes, daily journal entries, and ratings are stored on your device and, when iCloud is on for Goal Journal, in your Apple ID’s private iCloud (CloudKit). That data stays under your Apple ID. CA3DWorks cannot read it.
App settings. Preferences such as journal title, week start, and App Lock on/off may be stored on the device (UserDefaults). Some of those preferences can sync with iCloud key-value storage on devices signed into the same Apple ID.
App Lock. If you turn on App Lock, your app password is stored in iCloud Keychain for Goal Journal. Face ID or Touch ID, if enabled, is handled by the device. The app never receives your biometric data. CA3DWorks cannot see or reset your app password.
Reminders. The optional daily reminder is a local notification on your device. It is not sent through CA3DWorks.
Print. If you print a report, the device may use the local network to find a printer (AirPrint). Print jobs go to your printer, not to CA3DWorks.
Export. Settings → Export can write a JSON or CSV file with goal titles, descriptions, categories, completed status, and created dates that you save or share. Tasks, journal entries, and notes are not included. That file is created at your request. It is not a full backup and is not uploaded to CA3DWorks.
Android App
Journal content On Android, your goals, tasks, notes, journal entries, and shopping lists are stored directly on your device. The Android app does not use iCloud and does not sync between devices or with the Apple versions of the app. CA3DWorks does not operate servers for Goal Journal and cannot access your data.
Android backup If Android Backup is enabled in your phone’s settings, Android may save a copy of the app’s data to your Google account so it can be restored on a new device. This backup is managed entirely by Google under your Android settings, not by CA3DWorks. You can turn it off in Settings → Google → Backup.
App Lock If you set a PIN, it is stored on your device as a one‑way hash, not as the PIN itself. Fingerprint or face unlock, when enabled, is handled by Android’s secure system. The app never receives biometric data, and CA3DWorks cannot view or reset your PIN.
Reminders Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. The app requests permission to show notifications and to restore reminders after a restart. No reminder data is sent to CA3DWorks.
Share, print, and export When you share, copy, print, or export (JSON or CSV), the app generates the content on your device and hands it off to the app or printer you choose. Nothing is uploaded to CA3DWorks.
